We modified the Pigeon Guillemot decoy blank to make several Crested Auklet decoys for a University of Alaska researcher who was conducting a study investigating the importance of the scent the male auklet emits in attracting females during breeding.

The Project Puffin Visitor Center (PPVC) is located at 311 Main Street in downtown Rockland, Maine. The center opened its doors officially on July 1, 2006.
