Learn about Audubon’s explore.org live cameras and opportunities for nature lovers to get involved in community-based research.
July 16: Project Puffin w/ Steve Kress
Learn how a tiny project off Maine’s coast created big impact for seabirds worldwide.
Steve Kress, founder of Project Puffin, will present the story of how teams of young naturalists helped to restore puffins and other seabirds. The work of Project Puffin also inspired groups from around the world to help other seabirds return to their native homes.
July 30: Monhegan Island w/ Don Reimer
Learn about the world-renowned, migratory birding hotspot located off Maine’s coast.
Don Reimer will be discussing the amazing features of Monhegan Island, which will include birding spots, scenic views and more. This talk will also include lots of seasonal bird photos.
August 6: Seabird Art w/ Susan Bebee
Dive into this full sensory art activity, suitable for all ages!
Join Susan, a local artist, who will be at the center to assist and guide participants in a hands-on, full-sensory art activity. This activity is suitable for all ages and all supplies will be provided, including all art materials. NOTE: There is a $5 program fee for this activity.
August 13: Seabird Migration w/ Don Lyons
Learn how scientists are solving the mystery of seabird migration.
Don Lyons, Director of Conservation Science for Audubon’s Seabird Institute, will provide an in-depth perspective on seabird migration.

Visitor Center
The Project Puffin Visitor Center (PPVC) is located at 311 Main Street in downtown Rockland, Maine. The center opened its doors officially on July 1, 2006.
