Brushstrokes for Birds

Your artwork can make a difference.

Updated with new dates!

Brushstrokes for Birds is a public engagement initiative that allows artists of all ages, abilities, and mediums to participate in conservation through small pieces of art. Whether you’re an artist or an art collector, you can support seabirds! Want to know how?

If you are an artist who wants to participate, please note:

  1. Participation is open to the public and the rules are simple.
  2. Each piece of artwork submitted must measure exactly 5 inches tall x 5 inches wide.
  3. Artwork should feature seabirds, their resources, or their habitat for inclusion.
  4. Please do not sign the front of your piece(s), artists will remain a mystery until the work is purchased.
  5. Submit your artwork by dropping off at the Project Puffin Visitor Center on Main Street in Rockland, ME, or via mail addressed to: Seabird Institute, ATTN: Brushstrokes for Birds, 12 Audubon Rd, Bremen, ME, 04551.
  6. Artwork must be received by February 1, 2025
  7. By submitting your artwork, you grant the Seabird Institute permission to photograph your artwork for marketing purposes and sell your artwork one time.

Brushstrokes for Birds artwork will be available for purchase during an online sale through the Project Puffin Visitor Center's online store beginning on March 15, 2025.
