Brushstrokes for Birds

Small Art, Big Impact

The intersection between art and science is hard to ignore. Drawings, paintings, and sculptures have helped us learn about ecology, inspired a love of the natural world, and even aided in conservation initiatives for centuries. John James Audubon, himself, painted 435 watercolors for his seminal work, The Birds of America.

The Seabird Institute launched Brushstrokes for Birds as a public engagement initiative that allowed artists of all ages, abilities, and mediums to participate in conservation through small pieces of art. Inspired by seabirds and their habitats, dozens or artists donated works for the sale. Don’t wait to snag your favorite one-of-a-kind piece, because once it’s gone, its gone for good.
